ABOUT

1978 is the Sydney Arts Student's Society (SASS)'s creative journal that celebrates diverse sexualities and genders on campus. It is written, edited, and curated entirely by members of the USYD community who are women, non-binary, and/or members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Named after the first (illegal) Mardi Gras that occurred in 1978, this literary magazine remains a testament of how far we have come, and how far we have yet to go.

A huge thank you to all the contributors and editors of 1978. You have all made this beautiful literary magazine a possibility through your strength and dedication.
